Amongst the significantly enjoyable, old and historic villages: <strong>Episkopi<\/strong>, <strong>Spili<\/strong>, <strong>Amari<\/strong> (valley), <strong>Monastiraki<\/strong>, <strong>Anogia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>On the south coast visit: <strong>Plakias<\/strong>, <strong>Rodakino<\/strong>, <strong>Schinaria<\/strong>, <strong>Preveli<\/strong> beach, <strong>Agia Galini<\/strong>, <strong>Agios Pavlos<\/strong>. Where inland leads out, the <strong>gorge of Prassano<\/strong> (from Prasses village), and where land leads inwards, the <strong>Melidoni and Sfendoni caves<\/strong>. See the only sizable lake in Crete, <strong>Lake Kournas<\/strong>, with eating places along its edge, and cafes above from which to gaze at the view.
